Review: The Chosen One (Carol Lynch Williams) (original post 9/30/09)

The Chosen One* by Carol Lynch Williams is the story of a 13 year old girl who lives with her father, 3 mothers, and 20 siblings in a religious community. Kyra is promised to her 60-year old uncle, but she wants none of that! She has a crush on a boy in the community and has discovered books (they are not allowed to read non-religious books), which leads to trouble for her.

This book is a quick read and at the end is very intense and exciting. I stayed up late to finish the book I was so into it! I recommend it highly.
