I just finished Monster by Walter Dean Myers and once I got used to reading a novel written in screenplay format, I really liked it. It follows Steve Harmon, a 16 year old on trial for murder, as he goes on trial. The experience is told through Steves'; eyes as he lies scared on his cot in jail, watches the trial unfold, and relives the events that build up to the murder. Steve is a thoughtful teen and throughout the book I really wanted Steve to be found not guilty, but I am not going to spoil the ending by revealing it here!
