The end of another work week...where does the time go? This week has been a little different because my parents are out of town. I guess if I was younger I'd be totally excited and throw a party. But, I am not younger, so instead I worked harder than usual. In case you haven't read my About Me post, I am a single mom. My daughter and I share a house with my parents and they are amazing with the help they give me every day! So here's what we've missed out on this week with them gone:
- Chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast (Grandma makes these for my daughter, I eat toast)
- Rides to school each morning. I've been late every day this week so I can drive her to school. I have very much enjoyed taking her this week though!
- People to buffer my daughter and I (actually, we did well having only each other to interact with at home)
- The love and attention only a parent can give :-)
The nice thing is that we live in a digital age and they have internet in the mountains of Belize so we've been getting daily updates on their adventure.

You are so lucky to have great supportive parents. My parents were there for my children too, when they were young and I was a single parent working and going to school. It meant a lot and they have fond memories even though my parents have been gone for a number of years now.
Yes, while living in the same house sometimes feels a bit close (vacations give us a good break), it really is good all around. Now I get why people the world over live in multi-generational households!
I'm giving you the Honest Scrap Award. :)
