Hi Helen! Thanks for stopping by my blog. You have a great January list. I have Shanghai Girls and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo in my TBR pile. Good luck with your schedule and all your challenges.
Hi, Helen,
This is a great blog. Interesting set of challenges. What is a graphic novel?
Danielle, a graphic novel is just that: a novel with graphics. Well, actually, more comic book style with panels. Graphic novels include bound comics, Manga (Japanese comics), and novels told in comic style. There's a link on my sidebar about the Graphic Novel Challenge and here's a link to Wikipedia's description (not that it's the end-all description, but you'll get the basics): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_novel
I am not a graphic novel expert, but really enjoyed: Maus (holocaust) and Persepolis (Iran)
