I use email a lot. Who are we kidding, I have 2 accounts open all day and check them often. I have email for work, one for my personal stuff, one for my library listserve, and am considering getting a separate one for my blog. I just saw this YouTube video about social media over at Technology for Teachers that is really interesting.
Do you have a separate email account for your blog? Why or why not?

I have several email accounts--one personal/work email account, one main (more anonymous) internet account, and a few other less-used accounts. I'm thinking about creating one dedicated email for my blog, I just haven't gotten up the courage to do it yet.
Loved the video! I only have one email (I don't count work, as I have to have that)...and it's all I can do to keep up with it!

No, I don't have (or want) a separate account for my blog. Maybe yours generates more discussion than mine does, but I'd rather keep track of one than several small one.
Hey everyone, thanks for the email feedback. I think you're all correct: why do I need another account? Doing my one gmail is good (love the labels option to keep everything straight).
I have several different emails. It helps me to keep track of things and not loose personal emails in a mass of author requests.
All my emails come into different folders in Microsoft outlook, so it isn't hard for me to keep track of them all. I think a blog related email address looks more professional too, but I don't suppose it really matters.

Do your teachers use blogs and/or wikis in the classroom? I can't even get mine interested in them and they've been around quite a while! There are so many ways to use them in the classroom but my teachers won't use them. It's still texbooks and worksheets.

Campbele--I have convinced a few teachers to use wikis that I have set up, but just as a starting point for their students to do research (http://smhslibraryresources.pbworks.com) and I have convinced 2 teachers to actually do projects on wikis. One was SSR book reviews (http://mslindenstein.pbworks.com) and one was reports on photographers (http://msduchesne.pbworks.com)
