I Write Like...

I have seen this on a couple blogs now (most recently on Alexia's Books and Such) and thought it would be fun to do (and, really, how does the site do this? Words per sentence, types of words?). How ironic that I got a writer whose books I have never read! If you'd like to do this yourself, go to the I Write Like... website

I write like
Cory Doctorow

Why .. this is fun! I played around with several blog posts and got many writers for each. But the dominant ones were Lewis Carroll and Lovecraft.

Thanks for sharing!

I write like Charles Dickens. I totally don't believe that but I love him as an author and thought the process was fun.

I clicked on your link, chose a blog post that feels especially like me, and pasted it into the box that analyzes writing. Wow, I do recognize the writer! I write like Neil Gaiman! Read my post about this exciting discovery: http://bonniesbooks.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-write-like.html

Aths, Booksnob and Bonnie--If I really wrote like Cory Doctorow I'd quit my job and start writing! Bonnie's post about this is really funny since every post she tried gave her a different author!

I've never even HEARD of Doctorow, lol.

I saw a blog post about that site pointing out all of the author are white guys, which kind of cracked me up. And people say white privilege and male privilege are myths! ;)

Eva--good point about the white males. Sites like that are fun, but usually not "real". White privilege is DEFINITELY out there! I was married to a person of color and have seen lots of instances where it made a difference. I hope my daughter can use the best of both her cultures to her advantage. :-)

This was so much fun! I plugged in my latest blog post and got Jane Austen - lol! Decided to share the site on my blog yesterday, too. Thanks!
