Review: Wow. My friend Kathy at work read this book in a day and told me it surprised her and that she really liked it. So, I brought it home and it sat for about 3 weeks in a large pile of books. Honestly, I thought I wasn't going to get to it, but yesterday I was in the mood for a quick YA read and this title jumped out at me. Boy was Kathy right!
This book isn't what I thought it would be. I was expecting light, sister-searching, fun teenage romance, etc. What I got instead was intense, interesting, mysterious, page-turning sister-searching intrigue! Like my friend, I finished it in one day and really enjoyed it! Even though we don't really get to see Nina I feel like I know her through Ellie's descriptions and memories.
Ellie's friends don't think she should keep looking for Nina. It is obvious that she is gone; it's been two years. But, how can you stop looking for a loved one when they disappear? It made me think about about all those parents whose children disappear each year. How can they stand it? Until a body is found they must look at every person they pass thinking about their child. This is how it is for Ellie. Every clue, every pink-haired young woman, every artist's drawing may lead her to her lost sister.
And the romance between Ellie and Sean is well done. I wanted them to work out, I wanted her to have someone who made her feel special and cared for, like it would all be okay in the end. That is a good thing in a book; to become invested in the lives of the characters.

I have this book sitting here, and I'm hoping to read it next month. I read a couple of pages of this book, and it sure seemed delightful!
Aths--Delightful is a good word for this one. It has intense moments, but it's really good
