I am on page 8 of a book I started 5 days ago. How sad is that?! And it's a good one, too!
I am outraged at the thought of someone banning Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. I think this book is amazing and I recommend it to students all the time! Honestly, let me change that. I am outraged at the though of anyone banning any book. Here's what I'd like to say to the censors:
- If you don't like a book, don't read it
- If you don't want your children to read a book, keep it away from them. But, be warned that this will probably just make them want to read it even more
- Quit worrying about what other people are doing and concentrate on yourself

I was so angry when I read that guy's post. How can anyone actually equate rape with porn. He really has some serious issues.
Aths--some people just need to relax! There are so many horrible things that happen in the word; to worry about what book other people are reading just seems ridiculous!
