I had never read a graphic novel before starting a book blog. Well, that's not technically true. As a kid I read Asterix and Tintin books, but I thought of them as comics and not graphic novels. I guess I am still not sure which they are. Whatever category they fit into, I loved them (along with my Richie Rich comics). Anyway, in adulthood I hadn't read any graphic novels and I was not aware of the genre much when I became a teacher librarian two years ago.
I am so happy that I joined this challenge because it really opened my eyes to the graphic novel world, which I enjoy! Over the past year I have really increased the graphic novel collection in my school's library and I now encourage our students to read them. I will confess that I still haven't read any manga....
I initially signed up for the beginner level, figuring I could read 3 graphic novels in a year. Well, as you can see by the list below, I exceeded my own expectations! I really enjoyed reading the vast majority of these books. I definitely plan to read more graphic novels, but I thought I'd post my "challenge completed" post this month. I ended up achieving Expert Level (10 or more).

I think my favorites were the Aya series (set in the Ivory Coast) and my least favorite was The Rabbi's Cat.

I think that I've only read Persepolis of that list :( and I've the Bone series (I see it's in the image of the challenge) and it's really good. I love it :)
Sry--Persepolis was so interesting and it's fun to read a whole new genre.
This is one post that I need to bookmark. I'm looking for more graphic novels to read so i was waiting for your wrap up post. Meanwhile, congratulations! You definitely are doing so good in challenges!
Aths--I do feel like I've done well with my challenges! I hope you get around to reading some graphic novels; they really are fun (and quick)
