Family and Life:
A week ago I was flying to Florida and this week I am back in Santa Barbara celebrating Christmas! We had a lovely time in Florida with my brother and his family. The cousins enjoyed playing tennis, horseback riding, swimming, biking and just being together. I enjoyed reading 3 books, going for walks on the expansive Atlantic beach and through the local nature preserve (Pelican Island, the first bird preserve in the country). We even had a singing night that was quite impressive.

The last couple of days have been spent getting ready for christmas with last minute shopping, wrapping, cooking, and enjoying being back home with our dog, who was most welcoming when we arrived home!
When my daughter was really little she convinced me to give her one present on Christmas Eve. This is what she got this year: a custom-made converse high tops. I discovered a woman I've been friends with since high school is doing this. My daughter LOVED them!
Work:
Nothing to report, how nice.
Books and Reading:
I managed to read three books while on vacation and now I am reading the first Alex Rider book aloud with my daughter (she received it from cousins on our trip) and I am quite liking it.
I received three books from my brother's family, all of which were recommended by fellow book bloggers: Runaway Twin by Peg Kehret, Identical Strangers: A Memoir of Twins Separated and Reunited by Elyse Schein and Paula Bernstein, and When She Woke by Hillary Jordan.
