Summary (from the inside flap of the book): Arthur is only in New York for the summer, but if Broadway has taught him anything, it's that the universe can deliver a show-stopping romance when you least expect it.
Ben thinks the universe needs to mind its own business. If the universe had his back, he wouldn't be on his way to the post office carrying a box of his ex-boyfriend's things.
But when Arthur and Ben meet-cute at the post office, what exactly does the universe have in store for them? Maybe nothing. After all they get separated. Maybe everything. After all, they get reunited. But what if they can't quite nail a first date... or a second first date... or a third?
What if Arthur tries too hard to make ti work... and Ben doesn't try hard enough? Waht if life really isn't like a Broadway show? But what if it is?
Review: Ok. How fun is it that these two amazing authors (she wrote Simon vs the Homo Sapien Agenda and The Upside of Unrequited while he wrote History is All You Left Me and More Happy Than Not) are best friends? How could I not read this book?!
What a lovely story. I actually finished this book days ago, but somehow didn't write the review until today and I've got another book finished as well. If this book was a movie, it would be a rom-com for sure. Arthur and Ben are both wonderful characters even though they are flawed. Arthur is needy and totally unsure of himself, while Ben seems to have trouble committing and getting his act together.
I also liked their friends and family, they are supportive, encouraging, and help both Arthur and Ben along the way as they navigate this new crush / relationship. I love that their friends help them track the other down in the huge city of New York, knowing it would be good for them to meet someone special and fun.
Ben and Arthur are also trying to figure out what they want from each other. Just a summer fling? A lasting relationship? Friendship? You'll have to read to the end to see what they decide and it is worth it.
