Summary (from the inside flap of the book): Paul Strom has the perfect life: a glittering career as an advertising executive, a beautiful wife, two healthy boys and a big house in a wealthy suburb. And he's the perfect husband: breadwinner, protector, provider. That's why he's planned a romantic weekend for his wife, Mia, at their lake house. And he's promised today will be the best day ever.
But as Paul and Mia drive out of the city and toward the countryside, a spike of tension begins to wedge itself between them and doubts start to arise. How much do they trust each other? And how perfect is their marriage, or any marriage, really?
Review: I read this book in one day because I really wanted to see where it was going and I wasn't disappointed.
Paul Strom is a nightmare. He is so full of himself and so sure he is the best even though he is busy having affairs and treating his wife badly. Truth be told, I enjoyed reading his crazy narcissistic thoughts. He's the kind of main character that a reader loves to hate.
I also liked that the story took place all in one day. One long crazy day. We learn about Mia and Paul's history and all their issues through Paul's story telling.
If you want a story that will pull you in and is a quick read, this might just work for you.
