My life outside books:
Well, the first week of school has ended and yes, things have quieted down for me. At least a bit. What a relief.
I watched parts of the Democratic Convention and have been quite inspired. I found it emotional watching Kamala Harris accept the nomination and make her speech. It gives me hope that we might win in November, which really means we all win starting in January.
The house is much quieter since my daughter went back to college last weekend. She is still testing negative and, other than her duties as an orientation leader, I think she's bored with quarantine. It will be nice when classes begin. I have set up my office in her bedroom with my green screen and computer stand made up of books (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Joy of Cooking, and the Unabridged Mark Twain).I've just signed up for two online courses at our local community college: Building an Equity Mindset and Applying an Equity mindset and I have heard they are excellent.
