I have enjoyed watching the Olympic over the past week, especially the triathlon (I am going to try to do one next year so paid particular attention), swimming, gymnastics, rowing and track and field. One of my favorite events was the heats of the 50 meter freestyle. There were 10 heats for men and 11 for women and it's the event where 80+ countries are represented, from Gabon and other small African countries to the US. To me, this race is the spirit of the Olympics where everyone gets a chance, betters their personal times, represents themselves and their countries, and is supported. It is in this race that we see the love of sport.
I did another professional development workshop for work this week as well as attending a one day virtual conference (which ended up being only somewhat interesting). I also got word this week that I will be employed more than 100% this coming year so that I am officially back to having some tech integration duties. I am looking forward to it.
This first image is the books that I hoped to read in July. I read all of them except the one for work and I managed to read an extra 5 books as well.
And this image is the books I hope to read in August. Work will start up again so I might be being a bit optimistic, we shall see. Have you read any of these?
My daughter and I listened to Americanh for the past 10 days. It took us far too long because we could only listen when we both have time. We've even took to doing "errands" that we didn't really need to do using circuitous routes so that we can listen while we drive. But it was all worth it!
