I made good progress on my training this morning and actually ran jogged 1.5 miles. That's a new record for me even though I know it isn't impressive in the bigger picture of running/jogging. One thing that is helping all my workouts, and my life in general, is that I have virtually stopped listening to talk radio. I used to have NPR on when I drove around, but I've switched to Spotify and have made a couple playlists that just make me happy: All out '70s, All out '80s, Dance Memories (songs from when my daughter was dancing in 2012-2015), and I have also added a list from one of my best friends that she uses for her workouts. All the music in my life is making me happier.
I spent a good portion of this week at the school sites providing tech help to teachers. It was great to see teachers, especially since I am leaving soon. And yesterday I got 2 cards in the mail from colleagues, which were so sweet.
A new mural was unveiled at my old high school this week and it is stunning. The Ethnic Studies students/group worked with a local muralist to create the mural. It represents 6 themes: mother earth; tools for knowledge; returning home...no borders; struggle and resistance; vision of the future; and spirit of the sea.
I received my first #TBTB (The Broke and the Bookish) Santa cards this weekend and should receive 4 more from book bloggers. I've sent out my 5, which went out to bloggers in the US and Canada. I am still getting the last of the gifts for my #TBTB Santa, which I hope to get in the mail early this week.
