After Covid two weeks ago and last week's whirlwind graduation trip to New York, it felt good to have a mostly regular set of days this week. I got home Tuesday and my daughter arrived Wednesday. It definitely feels strange to have her back in the house, but it's only for a few days as she headed out of town yesterday to visit a friend in Oregon for a week.
It was my mom's birthday yesterday so we went out to dinner. Conan O'Brien was eating dinner at the table next to us, but we were "Santa Barbara cool" and didn't do anything about it or say anything to him. Today is a friend's birthday and she has reserved space at our local polo club so we'll be watching a polo match. It's not my usual social scene and I know nothing about polo, but it will be fun. Prince Harry now plays for our local team so we'll see him play.
And I start calling in for jury duty starting Monday night.
I joined the Big Book Summer Challenge hosted by Sue at Book By Book and I'll confess that I am counting both of the books above even though I finished them just before the challenge officially began. Hey, there's no reading challenge police, right?!
