- In the Dark We Forget by Sandra SG Wong
- Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick (a reread. The link goes to my original review. I was going to update it, but I agree with the things I said 11 years ago. I HIGHLY recommend this book)
- Unmasked: My Life Solving America's Cold Cases by Paul Holes
I have been thinking about moving out of my childhood home for a while now and have decided to take the plunge. Sharing a home with my parents for the past 18 years as I raised my daughter has been (mostly) really good, but she is off on her own now and it is time for me to have space that is really my own. So... we've been condo shopping, which is really fun, exciting, and scary all at once. Wish me luck!
Walks and dinner this week with five different friends, three of whom live in SB near me and two from out of town. As always, time with friends is restorative and fun. I also went to a fancy birthday party last night with yummy food and dancing under the (obscured by fog) stars.
We watched Squid Game this week. How did I not watch this until now?! It is sooooo good. How does it show the very essence of human nature and behavior along with the horror of the class system, debt, and the effect deprivation has on people. Chilling. And so good (worth saying twice).
