Sunday Salon: October 2, 2022

I have had lots going on this past week and it's all been good (hence less reading).

Thursday a high school friend was in town so we went out for dinner and drinks. It's great to see him and reconnect after many years. I hit the local Dollar Store (didn't even know we had one near my new house!) and bought some Halloween decorations. At my old house we never got trick or treaters and since the house was set back from the street, we didn't decorate. I think we'll get kids at the door so I am all in this year. 

My brother arrived from the UK on Friday and it's wonderful to see him and spend time together.
My daughter turned 22 yesterday. I woke up super early to decorate our living room as a surprise and we had a quiet celebration just the two of us in the morning. I think it's hard for her since she doesn't have friends in town, but we did a good job of making her feel special. We went for a walk with my parents and brother and out to a yummy dinner with my ex/her dad.

I know you all don't need to see all these photos, but this is a way for me to archive it all Saturday we had an All Class Reunion for my high school. We hold it every three years and it has involved LOTS of planning. It's great to see so many people return to campus with their kids and grandkids, everyone having the connection of our shared school. It's the second (third?) oldest school in California (started in 1875) and has a rich tradition so loyalty runs deep (sometimes a bit too deep, but that's another story). It was fun to see friends and acquaintances from classes that span decades.

This image is the books I hoped to read in September. I did well,  reading all of them except the one on the bottom which I am hoping to read in October. I also listened to 2 audio books.
