This past week was much quieter than last, which is quite nice. I feel like my time has been spent organizing stuff:
- 3 trips (with a possible forth), all before the end of this year. The first one is coming up this week as I head to Vegas to see work colleagues at a conference.
- Yesterday we shipped all my daughter's stuff to NY in a U-Haul, which feels like the first step to her really moving off on her own. Those movers really are amazing at spatial awareness!
- Starting to organize my 40th (!) high school reunion for next year.
- Events for the UCSB History Associates board. We had our first talk this past week entitled "Prioritizing the Preservation of Black Legacies in Santa Barbara," which was super interesting and well attended.
I've been watching three shows lately: the new Amazing Race season, the new British Bake Off season, and the K-drama "Cinderella and the Four Knights," all of which have been really good.
As we enter the last two months of the year, I realize how far off I am from finishing all the challenges I took on. And I realize that I am okay with that. I enjoy the hunt and thinking about the challenges throughout the year, but am also comfortable with not finishing them.
Here is is the current state of my 2022 challenges. The image is a link to my challenges page.
