- Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry by Joya Goffney
- Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson
Last Sunday was the first day in a very long time that I had nothing I had to do, pretty amazing. The first part of the week was full with work and life, and a virtual author event with Pam Jenoff, author of The Sapphire Code (link goes to my review). She was a fun speaker.
On Thursday I flew out to Scottsdale, Arizona to meet up with my daughter for her spring break. She really needed to get out of Ithaca, NY and see some sunshine so Arizona it is. We rented a great AirBnB with 2 patios, its own hot tub, and a community pool just 50 yards from our rental so we are set for the week.
The vacation started off on a wonderful foot because I met up with Susan from Bloggin' Bout Books for breakfast on Friday morning. It was so much fun to meet a blogger friend in person! After breakfast my daughter and I headed to the Phoenix Botanic Gardens where we went in the butterfly pavilion and wandered through all the exhibits. They have these really cool large, colorful sculptures throughout the gardens.
Saturday we went for a morning walk, read, hung out by the pool, watched a bunch of Schitt's Creek (my daughter has never seen it before), and went for an early dinner with one of my best friend's from high school and her husband. Not a bad way to spend a week. We're here until Wednesday night.
It's that time... the change over of months. The image above is the books I hoped to read in March. I read them all plus 7 more! What an amazing month of reading; I liked all the books I read.
Here's what I hope to read in April plus I picked up Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson at the airport and I'll listen to Queen of Dirt Island by Donal Ryan and The Yellow House by Sarah M. Broom for my two book groups. Have you read any of these?
Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
