Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon.
- Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin
Last Sunday ushered in the week with rain from Hurricane Hilary which came up from Mexico. We also had a 5.1 earthquake on the same, which I didn't feel since I was driving. Crazy.
I had a tough end of the week. I have mentioned that I am looking for another job since working part time just isn't cutting it financially. I applied to our local school district for my old job, thinking I would get it because... it's my old job. And I was good at it. And tons of teachers and some admin called to tell me to apply. I didn't get the job! I feel pretty bad about it. Many of the people in the district think I may be black balled by the Superintendent since I was part of the big exodus 18 months ago and I was one of 20 who gave an official exit interview to a hired consultant. So now my search begins for something else. It pretty much sucks.
I watched a really fun feel-good movie called "83" about the 1983 Indian cricket team that made history at the World Cup. I love an underdog sports movie! I'm also still working my way through The Big Bang Theory with my daughter.
It's time to apply to be a Cybils Awards judge. I have been a round 2 judge for the past 6 years so am going to take a break this time around. But, I highly recommend that you all apply as it's a wonderful process. The application is here, and applications will be open until September 8.
Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
