I've had a busy week with work ramping up (always a good thing given my current circumstances) and one of my jobs saying they'd like to give me more hours (yay!). I had a coffee (well, tea) date with a friend, lunch with another, helped an older family friend set up her new computer, presented to the staff at a local high school, attended a "ladies gathering" in my old neighborhood, and had dinner with my parents.
The big event for me was for the Alumni Association of which I am president. I presented this year's Wall of Fame inductees at the high school's pep rally. I was never in a pep rally when I was in high school (too shy) so to speak to 2,000+ students on Friday was wild. It went well and the students were respectful and supportive, which is always good. The inductees were a great group and one of them is 101 years old!
My high school 40th reunion is in 2 weeks and on Thursday I learned the bar where we were going to meet on the Friday night just closed down for good. So, I had a bit of a scramble to find a new meeting place. Whew.
Saturday I attended a talk called "New Frontiers in Women's Health" put on my our university's affiliates group. The talk was really good!
I was looking at my reviews for a specific author and noticed that on one of my reviews of her books the cover photo has gone missing. Huh. So I scrolled through all my review to see if there were other missing images. Um, yeah. There is a whole era (2015) where almost every review image has disappeared. I must have done something odd with 2015. So, I spent the past couple of days getting new cover images into tons of reviews. What a task, but it felt good.
Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
