My first day back in Santa Barbara (last Sunday) was a glorious one! Mid-70s, sunny, and I got to go for a walk along the coast and our harbor, which is one of my favorites. Catching up with my friend was great and we had lunch afterward at one of my go-to lunch spots.
Monday (in the middle of a work training that I was running, I might point out), I got nauseous and vomitted. Must have been something I ate because within an hour or two I felt better and it didn't happen again. Ew, but glad it was short-lived.
The week was a busy one with two board meetings. Tuesday was the UCSB History Associates and Thursday was the high school alumni. Running 2 board meetings in one week is a lot. But they are both such great groups of people so that makes it worth it.
My weekend had a ton going on. Saturday I went to the Farmers' Market and in the afternoon I drove down to Los Angeles for a friend's retirement party (how come I don't get to retire yet?!), which was fun. I drove back really late at night.
A friend told me about a wonderful podcast called Empire and I am really enjoying it. I'll confess that i am not listening to all the episodes, but the one's I've listened to so far are really interesting and well done. The 2 hosts are funny and smart and they have fantastic guests.
My reading has picked up though I am really looking forward to reading a bunch over the holiday next week!
Here is is the current state of my 2023 challenges. At this point, I am counting individual books for multiple categories in each challenge, but I'll replace them with other books throughout the year.
