Sunday Salon: August 11, 2024

The Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz.

Tuesday morning at 5:30am (ugh) I had a meeting with higher ups at my company to talk about my workload and possible solutions. I was brave and told them their solutions are all bandaids and that they really should hire someone. Not sure it made any impact.

I have really enjoyed watching the Olympics this past week. I've watched lots of track and field, but also water polo, gymnastics, bicycling, canoeing, rowing, artistic swimming and rhythmic gymnastics.

For the first time ever I got an alert on my phone that an earthquake was coming (it's a fairly new system in California). My response? Huh. That's interesting. Then the house started to sway. Amazing that we can get an alert that gives us 10 to 20 seconds warning. Next time I'll pay more attention to the alert. 🤣

On Thursday my dermatologist removed a chunk of skin from my thigh. A mole registered "moderate irregular cells" which means it isn't scary (though they have sent it off to the lab to be sure). I have never had stitches before so that feels a bit strange. No fun, but a friend's birthday party and walks with friends were great distractions.

Here is is the current state of my 2024 challenges
