I am writing to you from Montana! I have never been here before and it is beautiful. We were led to believe there would be tons of mosquitos, but I haven't seen a single one (soooo happy about this!). My family has gathered here to celebrate my dad's 85th, my mom's 80th, and their 60th anniversary (our gift was a photo book of their lives together). It's great to have us all together at a beautiful ranch. We're on the border of Yellowstone so it's all wide open spaces, big sky, and incredible scenery. We've seen grizzly bears (from afar), a pack of coyotes, lots of deer, horses, and cattle (we're staying at a friends organic cattle ranch that also hosts retreats). Hoping to see moose and bears closer up (but not too close).
I am enjoying doing virtually nothing. I realize my regular life starts early in the morning, I work, then do "work" for the 2 boards that I am on, dance, have 2 book groups, and see friends. So far in Montana, I've hung out with family, read, and we've played Telestrations (very fun game!). I don't know when I last felt like I didn't have an agenda for the day.
The day before we came to Montana I finally got a book tattoo (obviously, it will look better once it's healed and all the red goes away). I've been wanting one for a long time but couldn't find the image I wanted until recently. Sebastian has done at least one of my other tattoos and he is a great guy. His ex-wife is also a friend so she came by to hang out while he worked on my arm.
