Happy New Year, everyone! It's 2025—how crazy is that?! I had fun plans for New Year's Eve to go to the symphony with friends, but a low-grade fever, cough, and a head full of snot put the kibosh on that, so I stayed home with my daughter. That was good, too, since she left Thursday.
I posted a few end-of-the-year posts:
Since I was sick and recovering, I didn't manage to have a golf or dance lesson this past week. I read and just hung out. I hung two new pieces of art (given to me by generous friends from their collection), and my house looks the better for them.
My daughter got me to watch a series that I never would have watched on my own and I ended up enjoying it. Physical: 100 is a Korean show that aims to find the "perfect body." Not in the American way (looks and thinness), but one that is strong, flexible, agile, fast, and has stamina. There were men and women, Olympians, gym rats, weight lifters, firefighters, mountain rescuers, etc. They were all so supportive of one another during the challenges, in awe of those among them who were famous, and wow. Just wow. These contestants could work individually and in teams to do amazing tasks (rope claiming, ship moving, 100kg boulder rolling--uphill, running, and more).
This week, I had a few long talks with a friend who lives far away, which was great. Yesterday, I went for a walk with a local friend and today, I am going for another walk with a friend who is visiting from out of town, and I am also seeing my parents for dinner.
Here is the final state of my 2025 challenges.
